Injuries vary in different age groups

Injury occurrence varies among different sub-groups in the population. As revealed by the Unintentional Injury Survey 2018, people aged 75 years and older had a higher injury rate (7.4%) compared to those of other age groups (ranged from 2.0% to 6.0%).

In respondents aged 0-4, 2.0% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 5-14, 2.6% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 15-24, 3.4% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 25-34, 3.3% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 35-44, 4.5% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 45-54, 5.2% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 55-64, 4.5% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 65-74, 6.0% sustained injuries. In respondents aged 75 and above, 7.4% sustained injuries.
