Announcement: Re-Run of RTHK's TV Series "Medical Discovery"

The 8-episode TV series "Medical Discovery", produced by the Radio Television Hong Kong and broadcast from 26 July to 13 September 2011 on TVB Jade, has been well received by the public. It was voted to be one of the Top Ten programmes in the third season of Appreciation Index Survey 2011.

In view of the program popularity, the programme is now being broadcast again on ATV Asia Channel (Chinese High Definition version) from 10 March 2012. It will also be broadcast on TVB Pearl from 5 April 2012. The detailed schedule is as follows:

  • ATV Asia Channel (Chinese High Definition version),
    • 10 March - 28 April 2012
    • every Saturday, 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m.
  • TVB Pearl Channel (English version, named "Project Live Healthy"),
    • 5 April - 24 May 2012
    • every Thursday, 6:55 p.m. to 7:25 p.m.

Each episode of the series features a protagonist who has one or more risk factors of NCDs, and how a medical team of experts from different disciplines tailor-make a "self-rescue" regime for him/her. It is hoped that through a change in lifestyle, by adopting a balanced diet and adequate physical activity, the protagonist’s health will improve. The risk factors covered in the series include the "3-Highs" (high blood pressure, high blood glucose and high cholesterol), boozing, overweight, smoking, diabetes, mood, degeneration, and wear and tear.

The re-run is a good opportunity for you to learn / revise how to adopt a healthier lifestyle, and prevent NCDs. Don’t miss out this time!
