Behavioural Risk Factor Survey (BRFS)

The Behavioural Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) contains information on health-related behaviours of the Hong Kong adult population collected through a series of telephone surveys conducted systematically and periodically. In each survey, at least 2 000 randomly selected land-based, non-institutionalized persons aged 18 to 64 years are sampled. The eligible respondents are telephone-interviewed on their health-related lifestyle and behaviours. Each survey includes a core set of questions and other questions on specific topics of interest. During analysis, weighting is applied to age and gender in order to make the findings more representative of the general population.
